Have loved this place since my days living "up north" - when every hour-on-the-hour the staff would dance to "Copperhead Road." They don't do that in Little Rock, but it doesn't matter. This is a good place for steaks. We went on Wednesday night, 6/3/15 - and it happened to be the steak special night - a 8-oz sirloin for $9.99. Good: 1) My wife ordered mid-rare and I ordered med-well. Both were cooked perfectly. 2) Our server was friendly and attentive 3) Price was right - we had an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks and the bill was $30 before tip 4) Quick service (the place was fairly busy) 5) Food temps were perfect 6) Serving size was perfect - left full Bad: 1) My wife's mushroom "smother" topping on her steak was burnt, but they took that off our bill 2) While all the food/sides were great - everything was just a bit salty. We made this comment to our server, hopefully they will listen. 3) My side cup of chili was TOO SMALL.....seriously though, it was great chili We are not ones to pay big bucks for steak in LR - we'll grill them ourselves before coughing up $100 for dinner for two. If you want a great steak at a great price - Texas Roadhouse on Shackleford is for you! NIce job guys and girls.

We are visiting the area and checked Yelp for recommendations. None seemed to be what we were looking for, so we decided to "play it safe" with one of our favorite chain restaurants even though it was a bit of a drive from our hotel. Unfortunately this location is not up to par in our opinion. The rolls were undercooked. The greens of my husband's salad were brown; the greens on my Caesar salad were limp. My husband always orders the K-Bob. We were very surprised by the low quality of the meat. In fact, one chunk was gristle, not meat at all. Our waiter acted like she was doing us a favor. In fact she came 3 times to our table. The first was to take our order just as we were standing up to leave. Ten minutes without someone bringing out water at least is a long time to wait in our opinion. A runner brought the food out, so we didn't see her until she slapped the bill on the table before we were through eating. I decided that must be the universe telling me that I didn't need desert. The last time she came was to bring one water out after we flagged down another waiter to ask for our server. I guess we were supposed to share the water or maybe there was a shortage. The men's bathroom was dirty and was occupied by two fall-down drunks and two employees who were cutting up with them. We come through here three times a year. We won't be returning to this location, and I suggest you skip it too.

Stopped in for dinner on our way back home. Service was excellent and food was really good. Had the best pork chops ever; others had grilled Salmon and steaks. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

I love roadhouse be used I know I can get a good meal majority of the time. The staff here was friendly and quick. The filet I had here was the best I've had at any chain restaurant ever, and one of the best I've had in a while anywhere. That's the fifth star on this one. Cooked and seasoned perfect. Kudos to the cook here! My colleague said the same of his porterhouse.

The food was what one might expect from the name of the place. But the service? Holy cow! If I were an alien that landed here I would think I discovered the friendliest place in the universe! Being a Friday during Lent, I opted for the fried catfish. In Yelpalese I believe the term is "meh". I did enjoy the "Rattlesnake Bites" - sort of a cute take on Jalepeno poppers that are made in house. If you're going to have a libation, I would steer you to the house specialty - Margaritas. My wife ordered one and it was full tilt, even without the extra shot for just $2 more. I had a Martini which could have been served in a thimble. I can't imagine why I might be in this part of the country again anytime soon, but if I were, I'd come back here and get that kicked up Margarita and the Rattlesnake Bites and I'd be one happy alien...

Agree with the other reviewers on it being a chain and what you expect. Sometimes that is what you want so head on in. Just being in this area there is far better BBQ food so not sure why you would come here. The pulled pork was pretty good, and the buns and homemade bread were very good. I just wouldnt get a steak or anything.

Great service despite being the busiest day of the year (valentines weekend). The food was perfect and our waiter was friendly.

Service has always been good here with not too bad of a wait. I feel like the steak is well prepared and I always have to order some of their chili it is just delicious. It is a bit loud inside which is great if you have kids. Sure it isn't authentic but for a chain I feel like they do a good job with the food and service.

Always consistent and good! Only negative is sometimes the noise level is too much but I guess that should be expected in a roadhouse. Eat here often.

I think Texas Roadhouse is another chain. The food was a-okay. I had my steak medium-done. The mash potatoes were good. And the side salad was probably one of the best side salads I've seen in a chain. Steak was mediocre, makes me kinda crave the best steak I've ever had. Free peanuts to take-out if you ask for a bag.

MSG IS IN THE FOOD. Manager was nice as pie when I called to ask, but had very few answers. Foods ingredients are so secret that the packages of ranch powder that they mix with milk and stuff, you know the "Made from scratch" Dressings, do not have an ingredients list. He could tell me that the seasoning they use for the chicken, ribs and steaks did have MSG in it. I was then instructed to call the customer service line and that maybe they could tell me more. I HAVE NO COMPLAINT on the service nor the taste of the food at this location, BUT Sarah at corporate wast a total snotty pants. Not giving me any answers but told me that I could eat a salad, but duhhh the dressings have MSG in them, and a chicken breast with out seasoning. YEAH I'm going to go in to a restaurant and eat a dry salad and a unseasoned chicken breast... What nerve. I will not return to ANY Texas Roadhouse, EVER!!!!

This rating compares other chain restaurants (Outback, Applebees, Chili's, etc.) in the area: Service was great and the prices were okay. This place isn't creative and sticks with the basic of cooking steaks and ribs. However, overall the food was decent but I would still recommend a non-chain restaurant over this. By the way, this place does not have the best salad in Little Rock as one of the yelpers stated. I say that award should go to ZaZa on Kavanaugh.

About on the same level of food as Outback only in a quasi-Texas "peanut shells on the floor" type of atmosphere and is certainly a couple steps up from Lone Star. In fact, if you took the Lone Star atmosphere and served Outback steaks, you'd have this restaurant. The food is not memorable for either how good it is or how bad it is. The service I had was attentive yet not too intrusive or rushed. I'd say to try it if you happen to be in the neighborhood, but not worth a special trip out of your way to go. Go and judge for yourself.

If there is a chain that is doing something right it is this place. From the open kitchen to the training, this establishment has it nailed. I am usually one that hits the holes in the walls or local restaurants and kinda steer (pun intended) away from major chains. They tend to not be creative enough and the service seems to be lacking. Not with this company. The is the second location I have visited and it was just like the previous. My date, Erin, and I walked in to a packed restaurant and bar. We were greeted by a truly genuine hostess. We each ordered steaks. Erin had the 6oz filet, medium rare, and I had the 12 oz strip, rare. Our drinks came and Erin had to use two hands to handle that bad boy. These steaks are top quality and cooked to the correct temp. Mine was red with a cool center and it was wonderful. Erin is one to try anything once and she had a bite of my rare steak and said that it was wonderful as well. Texas Roadhouse simply does it right. A great concept with great service and quality steaks. This is one major chain that I can stand behind.

Worst Texas Roadhouse I've ever experienced. My husband's steak was filled with gristle. I ordered the BBQ chicken, broccoli and salad. They have limited choices for dressings. The broccoli came in a little bowl sitting on a giant dinner plate with a tiny portion of chicken. It was not a full chicken breast. It was a butterflied chicken breast, but only half of it made it onto my plate. It was like an appetizer instead of a main course. The drinks were so weak, it was a joke. I pointed this out to our server who went to the bar and came back with the news that they can only put 1 ounce of alcohol in a drink, because "it's illegal to put more" in a drink, according to the manager. Our poor server was apologizing profusely, because even he knew that was a lie. We just drank soda instead. The entire experience was so bad, we didn't even ask to have our check adjusted. We just wanted to get out. We'll never go back.

The steak is low quality (even on higher priced cuts). Good service was a plus. Go to Doe's for a good steak.
